Best Overall: Toadstool Cafe — Super Nintendo World, Epic Universe
The Toadstool Cafe isn’t just themed — it’s a legitimate restaurant. The mushroom risotto is creamy and perfectly seasoned, the Piranha Plant Caprese salad is Instagram-worthy, and the Block desserts are pure joy. It’s theme park dining elevated to fine-casual.
Best Burger: Asgard Smash Burger — Busch Gardens Tampa
A double smash patty with smoked gouda, caramelized onions, and a beer cheese sauce, served on a brioche bun. At $16.99, it’s not cheap — but it’s genuinely one of the best burgers we’ve eaten anywhere this year, theme park or not.
Best Snack: Butterbeer Ice Cream — Wizarding World, Epic Universe
Butterscotch soft-serve with a caramel drizzle and shortbread crumble. It’s sweet, it’s cold, it’s perfect for a hot Orlando afternoon. We went back three times.
Best BBQ: Smokehouse at Cedar Point
Cedar Point’s commitment to barbecue continues to impress. The brisket platter — slow-smoked for 14 hours and served with house-made pickles and cornbread — would hold its own against any dedicated BBQ restaurant.
Best International: Takoyaki Stand — Universal Studios Japan
Fresh octopus balls made to order, topped with bonito flakes and takoyaki sauce. At 800 yen (about $5.50), it’s the best value meal in any theme park on Earth.
Best Sweet: Funnel Cake Flight — Hersheypark
A sampler of four mini funnel cakes topped with Reese’s, Hershey’s chocolate, strawberry cheesecake, and cookies & cream. It’s absurdly indulgent and worth every calorie.
