Europa-Park Announces Massive 2027 Expansion With New Intamin Multi-Launch

Germany’s Europa-Park — consistently ranked among the best theme parks in the world — has announced its most ambitious expansion in over a decade.

The New Themed Area: Croatia

True to Europa-Park’s country-themed tradition, the new area will be themed to Croatia, drawing inspiration from the Adriatic coast, Dubrovnik’s old city architecture, and the country’s dramatic natural landscapes.

The area will include a new restaurant, gift shop, and two new attractions.

The Headline Coaster

The centerpiece is an Intamin multi-launch coaster with the following rumored specifications:

  • 3 LSM launches reaching a top speed of 75 MPH
  • 180-foot vertical spike with a backwards freefall
  • 4 inversions including a zero-G stall over the park’s lake
  • 4,200 feet of track
  • Estimated ride time: 2 minutes 30 seconds

If these specs prove accurate, it would become Europa-Park’s tallest, fastest, and longest coaster — dethroning Silver Star (240 ft B&M hyper) as the park’s headline thrill ride.

Water Ride Replacement

The expansion also includes a new Intamin flume ride to replace the park’s aging Atlantica SuperSplash. The new ride will feature a 60-foot drop, dark ride scenes, and a backwards section.

Timeline

Construction is scheduled to begin in late 2026, with a targeted opening in summer 2027. Europa-Park’s CEO Roland Mack stated that the expansion represents an investment of over €150 million.
